We run Peer Support groups, Stay and Play sessions and Family Holiday club sessions to connect parents and children together over shared experiences, languages and culture. We have successfully run 4 peer support groups since 2021, connecting over 50 families across Longsight, Gorton, Harpurhey and Langworthy (Salford).
Our sessions are informal, friendly and welcoming – making you feel at home in a non-judgemental space. Our sessions give children and their families an opportunity to bond and have fun together, away from the stresses of home.
Our longest-running group – Longsight Little Lions – now has regular visitors from Afrocats to do dance and exercise and Sure Start centre/Family hub outreach workers and health professionals to talk about physical and mental health and more. The group is on every Thursday from 12-1pm at Longsight Church of the Nazarene, Longsight, M13 0LG
Our Stay and Play sessions at Emmanuel Centre, Salford are held every week on a Wednesday from 10.30-11.45 am all year round, with special messy play sessions on in the holidays. We have toys and resources for 0-4 years old and everyone is welcome. The sessions are £1 including snacks and brews.
Our Family Holiday club is run at Emmanuel Centre in the school holidays – fun, low-cost events for all the family. This year we have had Pancake day fun, Easter crafts and egg and spoon races, A bug day with Safari Phil, a badge making session with an artist, a beach day in the summer and a spooky Halloween morning! We will be hosting a special Christmas event on Friday 15th December with a visit from Santa.
