Our Story

As parents, many of us wish there was an instruction manual of how to do it well, how to make the right decisions and how to ensure we raise happy, healthy children. Whilst we can’t provide a manual, we know the second-best thing is a support network, a tribe of other parents, carers and people who care about helping you and your family to be the best they can be.

Visit from the Stork CIC was created in 2014 to be that very thing – a friend, supporter, a place you can turn to for answers to the many questions you have and the issues you may encounter on your journey. Our projects adapt to what is needed; from breastfeeding support to delivering baby essentials to running specialist parent & baby groups.

Now, through The Stork Store, we are expanding our services to local families to help them save money on the things they need – from the first Moses basket to toys, games and books for older children. We are using the power of our community to find the items families need and make sure they are affordable and good quality for everyone. We are selling a mix of pre-loved and brand new items in the store, but everything is always in great condition. We also love supporting other small and social businesses so will also be showcasing handmade and independent products.

Why now?

Since lockdown and the start of the Covid-19 crisis it has become apparent there is a HUGE need for our free services – we have been delivering around 40-50 packages of baby essentials a week, plus providing emergency food, gas and electric top ups, finding furniture and more.

Every item sold in our store will raise funds to help more parents and children in Greater Manchester have access to baby essentials, as well as being able to provide emergency items such as utility top-ups and food parcels. We also work with social services to donate toys and parenting items when needed as well to children in need.

We are accepting donations of good quality toys and parenting items at the moment to our office address in Salford. Donations are accepted on Mondays and Fridays 10 am to 4pm at 6th floor, suite 18, St James House, Pendleton Way, Salford, M6 5FW. Please contact Kim on 07402630671 to arrange a drop off time and date.
