Visit from the Stork provides essential supplies to families living in temporary accomodation, so they can get back to a stable life.
Of our clients in 2025 were homeless or living in temporary accommodation, and we expect that to rise in 2026.
– Children may be unable to settle at school if they are being moved or having to travel long distances
– Stress and anxiety for both parent and child
– Damp housing conditions often lead to health issues such as asthma and other long term issues
– Temporary housing is often missing the equipment to be able to cook healthy meals
These are just some examples of how having unstable housing situations can cause families to need support
Advice and advocacy – including (but not limited to) support with Universal Credit, housing, grant applications & benefits information
Providing essentials – nappies, wipes, toiletries, infant feeding support including financial contributions to first infant formula milk
Providing extras – toys, clothes and equipment (currently not always guaranteed, subject to funding)
Applying for grants from other organisations on behalf of families
Foodbank and other professional referrals
We are crowdfunding to raise funds to help us continue our vital services, with a particular focus on our Stork Support project. Funds raised for the first 3 months of the campaign will be matched by Salford City Council, meaning however much you donate, it will be doubled.
