BOOBS Salford & Bury

We love BOOBS! Our longest running project BOOBS empowers women in Salford and Bury to be open about their breastfeeding experiences and inspire others to breastfeed for longer. We have been supporting parents on their breastfeeding journeys since 2014 and we believe that every parent should have the chance to have a happy, safe and comfortable breastfeeding journey.

What is BOOBS?

What we do

  • Online and face-to-face appointments with our team of Peer Support volunteers
  • A network of safe spaces to breastfeed in public through our BOOBS Approved venues
  • Exclusive discounts in our BOOBS Approved venues through our membership card
  • Monthly Breastfeeding cafe events, to enable social connections and provide peer support
  • Pop up’s at events around Salford and Bury through our Play Garden
  • A focused three-week antenatal course covering all the basics of breastfeeding
  • Ongoing Whatsapp community support for all who come through our antenatal sessions

In 2022, we supported over 500 women on their breastfeeding journey across Salford and Bury through 1:1 appointments, our Breastfeeding cafe’s, Antenatal classes and events. Our support is free and not time limited – we support parents through every step of their journey, helping them to reach their breastfeeding goals – whether that is to breastfeed for 1 week, 6 months or 2 years and beyond.

Other Projects

Stork Support

Stork Support is our core service, giving free and low cost vital baby and household essentials to the most vulnerable families such as those fleeing DV, living in temporary accommodation, living on extremely low incomes and those with poor mental health.

Stork Store

Stork Store is our online and physical store, selling pre-loved and new toys, as well as baby clothes, nappies and more at discounted prices

Stork Peer Support

Our Stork Connections peer support group is to connect and support families together in local areas across Manchester and is a way to continue to help our Stork Support clients with baby essentials.
